The Forum, with a rectangular plan, was actually surrounded on three sides by porticoes with rooms (shops or offices), whereas the Temple of Venus Genetrix dominated the centre of the fourth side.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_491\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-491\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-491\" src=\"http:\/\/fori-imperiali.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/foro-di-cesare-I-sec..jpg\" alt=\"Recostructive view of the Forum of Caesar at the time of Iulius Ceasar \" width=\"640\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fori-imperiali.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/foro-di-cesare-I-sec..jpg 640w, http:\/\/fori-imperiali.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/foro-di-cesare-I-sec.-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-491\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Recostructive view of the Forum of Caesar at the time of Iulius Ceasar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Close to the Temple of Venus Genetrix there was a hilly area which was dug out for the construction of the Forum of Trajan (112-113 A.D.). This intervention also involved important works in the Forum of Caesar and the reconstruction of the Temple itself. Particularly, on the western side of the Forum of Caesar, west of the Temple, they built a structure with two aisles, the Basilica Argentaria, on whose walls several graffiti can still be read.
